KI-001: Billing Instructions Require Regeneration to Match Student Count¶
- Severity: Medium

- Reported Date: 2026-02 (observed during 2026 billing cycle)
- Description: After running the billing configurator and generating billing instructions, the total student count in the billing summary does not always match the expected count (~920 students). The instructions need to be deleted and regenerated to produce the correct totals.
- Impact: The billing cycle cannot proceed until totals align; causes delays and rework during the billing run.
- Workaround: Delete the generated billing instructions and re-run the configurator. In the 2026 cycle, this was done twice before totals aligned correctly.
- Root Cause: Under investigation — likely related to SIS data sync timing or duplicate detection logic in the configurator.
